Praying God’s Kingdom Upon the Streets, across Our Nation to STOP the Rioting

RSS

A summary of Events

On Thursday night 29 year old Mark Duggan was shot fatally by the police. This spurred riots to begin in Tottenham on Saturday night and since then the riots have spread throughout London and the country, reaching Liverpool and Birmingham. The riots consist of widespread looting, violence and arson; police cars, buses and a carpet shop are just a few example of arson attacks. The Prime Minister has flown back early from his family holiday and has released a statement.

What we can do together.

We urge every person who possibly can to pray that the riots will cease and that peace will engulf our nation. If it is possible we are asking churches to hold prayer meetings that Christians can meet together and seek God about this issue. We are also asking churches to change normal meetings into prayer meetings. If you feel your church could hold a prayer meeting then please let us know and we will post the information on the GDOP website so people know where and when various prayer meetings are being held.
